THREE WAYS
IT GOES

The right scope depends on whether you're changing the layout or working within it.

01

Refresh

New cabinets, counters, backsplash, and appliances in the existing footprint. Fastest path to a finished kitchen with minimal permitting.

02

Reconfiguration

Moving the sink, range, or island means relocating plumbing and electrical — this is where a licensed contractor coordinating the trades matters most.

03

Full Gut & Structural

Opening a kitchen to a dining or living space often means removing a load-bearing wall — engineering, permitting, and framing before any finish work starts.

Questions

FREQUENTLY
ASKED.

A kitchen remodel typically runs $85,000–$250,000 depending on scope — a refresh at the lower end, a full gut with structural changes at the higher end.

A cosmetic refresh often doesn't require a permit. Moving plumbing, electrical, or walls does — we handle the SF DBI submission as part of the project.

A refresh can take 3–5 weeks. A reconfiguration or full gut with permitting typically runs 3–5 months from design through completion.
